    Description

Badger is a 49ft traditional stern narrowboat, lovingly built by master carpenter Charlie Fox for his own retirement. Crafted with care and precision, she blends time-honoured craftsmanship with enduring comfort, offering a rare opportunity to own a truly characterful vessel. Powered by a beautifully preserved 1956 3YC Ruston engine, Badger is more than a boat—she’s a piece of British canal history, steeped in heritage and charm.

Step inside to find an interior finished entirely in warm Brazilian Red Hardwood. Every element—from the bespoke cabinetry to the handcrafted dining table—has been thoughtfully designed and constructed to last. The saloon provides a welcoming space to relax, with two custom-built sofas offering hidden storage. One sofa converts into a double bed, while the other becomes a single, making this a versatile and sociable living space. At its heart is an original Fox wood-burning stove with back boiler, adding a sense of nostalgia and comfort.

The galley is fully equipped for life on the water, featuring a Vanettee 4-burner hob, an Ord Midi Prima oven and grill, a Shoreline 12V fridge with freezer box, and twin stainless-steel sinks. There’s generous storage for provisions, and all cookware, crockery, and utensils are included—making Badger ready for immediate adventures.

Toward the stern, the master bedroom features a fixed double bed with built-in wardrobes and drawers, all crafted from Brazilian Red Hardwood. A stern-facing hatch provides natural light and access to the steering deck, with the weed hatch conveniently located beneath the bed. The bathroom offers a compact yet practical space, complete with a Tecma pump-out toilet, a shower, hot water cylinder, and an airing cupboard, along with a sink, mirror, and built-in storage.

Badger is a unique and lovingly maintained boat that speaks to a slower pace of life. Beautifully appointed and rich in character, she offers the perfect balance of history, comfort, and craftsmanship—ready for her next chapter on the water.
